Review of My Keralam (Personal favorite)

My Keralam is at 24 St. Helens Street, Ipswich, IP4 1HJ and is not your ordinary curry house, it offers a slightly less familiar menu than most encouraging us to be a little more adventurous. A staple favourite of Nigglybeak's (our most avid curry enthusiast) is the King Prawn Roast which he describes as " a very flavorsome fried onion and curry leaf thingey" personally for a milder and Vegetarian option I would recommend the Thaka Dhal maybe with a nice Garlic Roti bread. If you like things on the hot side then this is a good place to go, their hotter dishes offer a good kick whilst retaining a good mix of flavours. On the Down side, while the staff are friendly enough there is a very definite language barrier, which can make choosing a new dish a little difficult, it is also worth remembering that if you order 2 chapati's you are likely to end up with 4 as they come in portions of 2... a lesson we learned early on! Also the beers come in at £3.90 for a bottle of Kingfisher which can end up being a tad on the expensive side if you are a quick drinker. Having said that though, the food makes up for it all and so far this is the favourite.
